Our Assistance with Daily Life and Personal Care services help people with disabilities manage everyday activities with dignity, respect and greater control over how they live.
From support with morning routines and personal care to assistance with appointments and household activities, the aim is to provide help where it is needed without taking over.
Personal care is also part of our broader disability support services, allowing it to work alongside other supports a participant may receive.
Under the NDIS, Assistance with Daily Life can support disability-related everyday activities that a participant may have difficulty completing independently. The support provided depends on the participant’s needs, goals and approved NDIS funding.
Support workers may assist with daily routines, supervise activities or provide practical help with tasks such as personal care, meal preparation and household activities.
This support helps people manage everyday activities so they can live with greater comfort, confidence and independence.

Assistance with Daily Life may form part of a participant’s Core Supports budget when included in their NDIS plan. This funding can be used for approved disability-related assistance with everyday personal and household activities.
It is different from support focused primarily on developing long-term skills. Daily Life support provides practical assistance with current activities, while Capacity Building supports generally focus on developing skills that may increase independence over time.
