What NDIS supports can Unify provide?

Unify delivers Allied Health (physio, OT, speech, psych, podiatry), Specialist Behaviour Support, Support Coordination, and Disability & Peer Support (community access, skill-building, SIL/STA).

What kind of experience do Unify Clinicians have?

We take a tailored approach to allocating a clinician who suits your needs and presentation. We have a variety of clinicians experienced with various physical, mental health and psychitaric conditions, so we’ll be sure to meet your clinical needs.

Are Unify’s Support Workers Experienced?

We recognise the need for you to have support workers that help you reach your goals. As a multidisciplinary provider, we go the extra step to ensure that our support workers are trained by our extensive team of Allied Health and Specialist Clinicians.

Which locations do you cover?

We operate Australia-wide: Gold Coast and Brisbane (QLD), Western Sydney (NSW), and Melbourne’s Metro North, West & East (VIC) and Ballarat (VIC). Telehealth and mobile visits are available nationally. Click here to find out if we are near you!

Is there a waitlist?

For most services we can offer a same-week intake call and book your first session within 7 days; urgent Behaviour Support consults can be fast-tracked.

How do I start with Unify?

Call 1300 777 UDS or visit uds.com.au → complete the quick referral form. A service navigator will phone you within one business day to confirm details and book an intake.

Do I need an active NDIS plan?

Yes, however, if you’re still applying, we can guide you through eligibility and evidence gathering but funding must be approved before therapy or support starts.

Which NDIS budget categories do your invoices use?

  • Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living (allied health therapies)
  • Capacity Building – Improved Relationships (behaviour support)
  • Capacity Building – Support Coordination
  • Core – Assistance with Daily Life / Community Participation (disability & peer support)

What’s the difference between Support Coordination and Specialist Support Coordination?

Support Coordination helps you understand your plan, source providers and prepare for reviews. Specialist Support Coordination is higher intensity—used when there are complex barriers, multiple agencies or significant risk factors.

How does Unify write reports that get funding approved?

Our clinicians use NDIA-aligned templates: clear functional impact statements, measurable goals, capacity-building outcomes and value-for-money reasoning—reducing back-and-forth with planners.

Can you help with Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) lodgement and restrictive-practice management?

Yes. Our practitioners write Interim and Comprehensive BSPs, upload them to PRODA, liaise with the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission, and coach your team on data collection and reduction strategies.

Do you offer after-hours or weekend services?

Community & in-home support workers are available 7 days; therapy and BSP consults run Monday-Saturday. Out of hours services can be available by appointment.

How are travel charges calculated?

We follow the NDIS Pricing Arrangements. We’ll always try and pair you with a clinician local to you so that you pay less for travel and have more funding to utilise

Are telehealth sessions funded the same as face-to-face?

Yes—telehealth uses the same line items as in-person therapy, provided it meets participant goals and is clinically appropriate.

What if my informal supports have changed?

Tell your coordinator or therapist ASAP. We can prepare a carer-impact statement or GP letter so the NDIA understands reduced informal capacity.

How do I prepare for my plan review?

  • Gather progress reports from every provider (Unify can request these for you).
  • Check each support is linked to at least one plan goal.
  • List any unmet needs or new goals.
  • Bring quotes or assistive-tech trials if requesting new items.

Can Unify work alongside my existing providers?

Absolutely. We can deliver single-discipline therapy, or provide a full multidisciplinary package—whatever best meets your plan and preferences.

Can I choose my clinician or support worker?

Yes, absolutely. We’ll match you based on your goals, preferences, and cultural needs. If you ever feel like a change would suit you better, just let us know — we’ll support a smooth transition.

Do you support plan-managed, self-managed, and NDIA-managed participants?

Yes. We work with all funding types. For NDIA-managed participants, we invoice the NDIA directly. If you’re plan- or self-managed, we’ll send invoices you can process through your plan manager or portal.

What if I don’t know what services I need yet?

That’s okay! Our intake team and support coordinators can help you explore your goals and funding so we can suggest the best service mix for your plan.

Do I need a referral from a GP or specialist?

No, not for most services under the NDIS. Simply complete our online referral form and you’ll be on your way to receiving services. If any specific documentation is needed (e.g. for assistive tech), we’ll guide you through it.

What makes Unify different from other NDIS providers?

We’re outcome-focused, not box-ticking. With NDIA-aligned documentation, dedicated service navigators, and a warm, human-centred approach — Unify ensures every service delivers real impact, not just hours on a calendar.

How do I know if my supports are working?

Our team tracks progress toward your goals using outcome measures, therapy notes, and session reviews. We’ll share regular updates and can adjust the plan if your needs or goals change.

Can you help me get ready for my first NDIS plan (or a plan reassessment)?

Yes. Whether it’s your first plan or a reassessment, we can help you gather the right documentation, clarify your goals, and explain what supports might be best suited to you.

Do you support children and families?

Yes. We offer paediatric OT, speech therapy, psychology and behavioural supports, and parent coaching. We’ll also help you build a sustainable team that grows with your child.

Do you Support Adolescents and Adults?

Yes, we offer services across the lifespan, so you can make sure that the services delivered will have your stage of life in mind.

Do you support mental health and psychosocial disability?

Absolutely. We have clinicians trained in working with psychosocial disabilities, and can provide both therapy and Specialist Support Coordination for participants with complex mental health needs.

Can I get support at school, home, work, or in the community?

Yes. Our services are mobile and flexible — whether at home, in a school setting, workplace, or local community. We’ll work with you to deliver supports where they’re most effective.

Can I receive service at your clinics?

Yes, we have a variety of clinics across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Visit our location page to find your nearest Unify office.

Do you provide services in languages other than English?

Yes. Where possible, we can offer bilingual staff or organise an interpreter. Let us know your preferences and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

What makes Unify different from other allied health or therapy providers?

Unlike other practices, we specialise in Disability Services, which means that our in-house team of experienced clinicians can delivery the service you need that are specific to your disability. We live and breathe Disability Services, from the therapeutic support to reports that help you get more funding.
